About Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging is a safe, non-invasive way to visualize your baby during pregnancy and diagnose gynecological conditions. Garden OB/GYN offers state-of-the-art 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasound technology across our locations. From confirming your pregnancy and checking your baby's growth to evaluating pelvic pain and screening for abnormalities, our skilled sonographers and providers deliver clear, accurate results.
What to Expect
During a prenatal ultrasound, you'll lie comfortably while a technician applies gel to your abdomen and uses a transducer to create images of your baby. The procedure is painless and typically takes 20-30 minutes. For gynecological ultrasounds, a transvaginal approach may be used for more detailed imaging of the uterus and ovaries. Your provider will review the results with you and discuss any findings.
Who Is It For
Pregnant women at various stages of pregnancy for routine monitoring, and women of any age experiencing pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, or other gynecological concerns that require imaging.

Ultrasound — Common Questions
Is ultrasound safe during pregnancy?
Yes, diagnostic ultrasound has been used safely in pregnancy for decades. It uses sound waves, not radiation, to create images.
When will I have my first ultrasound?
Most women have their first ultrasound between 6-8 weeks to confirm the pregnancy and estimate your due date, with a detailed anatomy scan around 18-20 weeks.
What's the difference between 2D, 3D, and 4D?
2D provides flat, cross-sectional images used for medical evaluation. 3D creates still three-dimensional images of your baby. 4D shows real-time 3D movement.
Do I need a full bladder?
For early pregnancy and some pelvic ultrasounds, a full bladder can improve image quality. Your provider will give you specific preparation instructions.
