Your baby at 14 weeks
You have officially entered the second trimester. Your baby is about the size of a peach and is gaining new expressions, able to squint, frown, and grimace as facial muscles develop. The kidneys are making urine, and fine downy hair called lanugo is beginning to grow over the skin.
Your body this week
Many people describe this as the more comfortable stretch of pregnancy, with nausea easing and energy returning. You may notice your appetite picking back up, which is a good sign. Some experience mild round ligament discomfort or a stuffy nose from pregnancy hormones, both of which are common and harmless.
Tips for week 14
With more energy, this is a great time to establish a gentle, regular exercise routine that feels good to you, such as walking, swimming, or prenatal yoga. Focus on nourishing meals now that food may sound appealing again. Stay consistent with your prenatal appointments so your provider can track your progress.
