Your baby at 29 weeks
Your baby's muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and their bones are now fully developed, though still soft and pliable. They are getting better at controlling their own body temperature as more fat builds up under the skin. Movements are strong and frequent as your baby flexes growing arms and legs.
Your body this week
Heartburn, constipation, and occasional swelling in your feet and ankles are common as your body works harder to support your growing baby. You might feel more tired again, similar to early pregnancy. Some mild swelling is normal, though it is worth mentioning sudden or severe swelling to your provider.
Tips for week 29
Keep up with iron-rich foods and plenty of water to support your increasing blood volume and ease constipation. Continue tracking your baby's movements and reach out to your provider if you notice a clear decrease. Putting your feet up when you can and choosing supportive shoes can help with swelling.
