Your baby at 33 weeks
Your baby's skull bones remain soft and are not yet fused, which allows the head to ease through the birth canal during delivery. The immune system is strengthening as antibodies pass from you to your baby. Your baby continues to gain weight steadily and is becoming more coordinated, with movements that may feel like firm pokes and stretches.
Your body this week
You may feel warmer than usual as your blood flow increases, and aches in your back, hips, and pelvis are common. Sleep can be harder to come by, between frequent bathroom trips and finding a comfortable position. Some people notice their belly button has popped out, which is normal and temporary.
Tips for week 33
Stay well hydrated and keep moving gently throughout the day to ease stiffness and improve circulation. Naps and an earlier bedtime can help make up for interrupted nighttime sleep. If you have not already, talk with your provider about the signs of labor and when they want you to call.
