Your baby at 7 weeks

At 7 weeks your baby is about the size of a blueberry, and arm and leg buds are emerging while the brain grows quickly. The face is taking shape with the beginnings of eyes, nostrils, and ears. The umbilical cord is forming to carry nourishment from you to your baby.

Your body this week

Nausea, fatigue, and breast tenderness often continue, and you may notice increased saliva or a metallic taste. Mild cramping and the need to urinate more often are common as your uterus grows. Mood swings can also come and go with hormonal changes.

Tips for week 7

Try to eat protein and complex carbohydrates to keep your energy steadier through the day. Gentle movement like walking can help with both mood and digestion when you feel up to it. Keep your questions written down for your prenatal visits so nothing slips your mind.
