Your baby at 8 weeks
Your baby is about the size of a kidney bean now, with fingers and toes starting to form and webbing between them gradually disappearing. Tiny movements are happening, though it will be weeks before you can feel them. The major organs and body systems are continuing to develop at a remarkable pace.
Your body this week
Many people feel the full swing of early pregnancy this week, including nausea, fatigue, bloating, and tender breasts. You may notice your clothes fitting a little differently even though your bump is not visible yet. Occasional dizziness or lightheadedness can occur as your blood volume increases.
Tips for week 8
Rise slowly from sitting or lying down to ease dizziness, and keep snacks and water within reach. Comfortable, supportive bras can help with breast tenderness. If nausea is making it hard to eat or drink, mention it to your provider, since there are safe ways to help.
